Jack stares at her like she's grown a second head. "Excuse me....what did you say?"

Liz is acting completely not herself, which is bad considering she just got hit with some sort of cloud of dusty...dust...stuff. She looks all dreamy eyes and sounds positivity girly.

"I said we should get married and buy a house in the suburbs, and have kids, and a cat and minivan and throw dinner parties every Saturday night for all our nice normal friends."

Jack shakes his head trying to clear it from the dust. "I dunno I think there would be something wrong with that, but I can't remember why that is."

Liz looks absolutely crushed when he suggests something might be wrong with that course of action. It perfect, the greatest idea ever.

"Do you wanna get a dog instead?" She asks, her tone just as pleading and helpless looking as her face.

Jack starts laughing through gods knows why he thinks it's so damm funny that Liz wants to get a dog. "Us with a dog......like a poodle or something?"

Oh, he did not just LAUGH at her brilliant "Let's get married and have a perfect little 1950's classic TV style family" idea that for some reason is the single most important thing in the whole damned universe to her right now, did he?

"No." Liz looks remarkably hurt. "A Labrador."

Jack stops laughing and considers this. "I like labs, they are a guys dog....maybe I could take it alien hunting or something."

Liz's jaw drops even more. "You will not! You have to get a real job. A normal job that you can't take a dog to, because I'm not working. I can't work because I will have very important wife things to do."

"Wife things in this century? Like what may I ask?"

"Someone has to take care of he house, and make dinner and take care of the kids and do laundry."

"You do realize that model died out in the 1960's right?"

"So what? It was good. Things were a lot nicer back then, weren't they?"

"Not always....believe me I was there for some of it."

"I know," Liz sounds even more whiny than usual. "And you said it was some of the best times ever, remember?"

"For the time yes, but women had no rights then...gay men could be arrested, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows."

"I know but..." Liz is going to pout now. "It'd still be nice right, having someone take care of you and clean up and make dinner and all that."

"Actually no it would make me feel uncomfortable because that's not who you are."

"Maybe that's who I wanna be now, huh?" Maybe? No, it's just pixie dust tends to make people act more than a little bit not themselves. "Maybe that would be better than what I am now."

"You'd hate it," Jack tries to explain...., "it wouldn't fit you it never would. It's not what this century is about."

"How do you know I'd hate it? How do you know you'd hate it?" She's going to get offended now and fold her arms over her chest. "I'm a lot more...of a woman than you think I am, Jack."

Jack smirks. "You hate pink, jewerly you only wear if there is a cross on it and half your clothes have to be fire proof......makes wearing dresses kinda hard...which you hate wearing most of the time anyway."

Now it just seems like he's mocking her. She's still got dust all over her so she's convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the right, no the ONLY course of action.

"And you're being really mean, you know that?"

Jack shrugs. "I'm being honest for once....if that's mean than I'm sorry Liz."

"Well if this is honest, I'd rather you lied to me!" She really wouldn't but that dust is effecting her better judgement as well as her desires. "You know what. Maybe I don't want to marry you if you're so...mean."

Jack is fighting the urge to laugh really hard right now, it would get him a fireball in the face if he did, he's pretty sure.

"Liz I think it's time to go home."
