She's having a really hard time with this. She's so confused because one minutes he's telling her what she truly believes are her greatest hopes and dreams aren't right, and now he's telling her he wants to help her. But, maybe she can work this to her advantage.

"Only if you promise we can do the get married, get a house and a dog and a minivan and have 2.5 kids."

Frantic, panicked bargaining is a go.

"Liz you aren't thinking with your right mind right now. I need to help you get better before we can talk about things like that."

"I'm fine," She insists again. Being told she's not mentally OK is not sitting well with her. "I've been crazy before, and I'm not...I'm not. This is what I want, this is what I've always wanted."

"I don't think so Liz...it doesn't fit what I know about you....about us."

Of course when he says 'us' that calms her down a little. "Yeah...well..." She takes a deep breath and looks at him then, trying to be calm. "What is it you think that would be good for us?"

"We should slow down....take our time. Figure out what this means."

"What what means?" The desperation in her voice is apparent. "What do you mean this, what's this? I don't want to slow down, Jack. I need to know. I need to know now."

"So let's figure it out so we can get married all ready!" Yup, Liz very insistent about this.

"Love doesn't work like that sweetheart," Jack says calmly, "and those that say it does end up getting hurt."

"I'm not gonna get hurt. You promised me you'd make sure I never got hurt." She says while giveing him the hugest doe eyes in existence. "You're not gonna break your promise, are you?"

"Now I'm not going to break it, but I'm not going to lie and say you are ready for marriage when I know you aren't and you know you aren't."

He's trying to reason with someone that really can't be reasoned with. "I know I love you and I know you love me and that should be enough!"

Jack stands up. "A good shower will have you seeing thing a difference way. I promise."

Liz looks at him like he's grown a third head. The mention of a shower of course makes her think of the now customary post mission showers for two. "Are you seriously suggesting a shower is gonna fix this? As if I'm gonna sleep with you after you completely break my heart!"

"Liz there comes a time in every relationship when you get one chance to say. 'I need you to do this with me.' I'm using my chance right now."

"Fine." Liz spits, still being fully effected by the emotion dust. It's a good thing this is all going to be a blur to her because Jack really should have saved that trump card for later. "I'll take a shower. But I'm not gonna like it."
