AN: Again with the hypothetical.

Liz stared at the woman who’d become like the sister she never had. She’d done this a dozen times before. Instead of getting easier, each time it got harder.

“You can stay with us. It’ll be crowded, but we’ll manage.” Dana had Liz’s hand held tightly in hers. “Don’t leave, please.” Liz was not expecting this reaction. It confused the crap out of her, frankly. She expected this kind of pleading from Kitty or Will, but not from Dana.

“I have a place to live, that isn’t what this is about.” Liz shook her head, unable to make her eyes meet her friends. “Dana, you might have a life here but I…don’t.” She pulled her hands out of the other woman’s before they started to shake.
